Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Cash Rate Target Trends in April 2010

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has raised the cash rate to 4.25 per cent on the 7 April 2010.
The RBA cash rate target of 4.25% matches the cash rate target for Dec 2008 of 4.25%. Prior to Dec 2008 and after Jan 1990 the cash rate target hit 4.25% only once on the 5 Dec 2001. (more…)
Australian Interest Rates At 4.25% And Well Below Long Term Average

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decided to raise the cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.25 per cent, effective on the 7 April 2010.
The RBA stated the global economy is growing, and world GDP is expected to rise at close to trend pace in 2010 and 2011. (more…)
Australians Don’t Want Population of 36m

Two-thirds of Australians don’t want the country’s population to reach 36 million by 2050, as forecast by Treasury, an opinion poll shows.
The poll, released on Thursday, found 69 per cent of people want the population to be 30 million or less in 40 years time.
“The poll shows Australians are comfortable with some increase in population size but are not in full support of the 36 million projected in the government’s intergenerational report,” Lowy Institute executive director Michael Wesley said in a statement. (more…)

Australian State Government Sales Data Providers Service Comparison Chart

All State Governments in Australia receive and manage residential sales data. After every residential sale the details of that sale including address, sale price and other relevant information is recorded in an electronic database. The Valuer General Office (VGO) in each state is ultimately responsible for the management of property sales data.
Some State Governments provide excellent low cost, easy access online sales data services to the public whilst on the other end of the spectrum other State Governments do not provide residential sales data to the public. They only provide sales data direct to real estate agents and valuers, which is a disadvantage to the public, to buyers and to sellers. (more…)
Investors Money On Kelmscott Growth Location With High Rental Yields

According to RP Data figures investors are better off buying in the City of Armadale, which has Perths highest rental yield for houses at 5.3%. Kevin Young, President of Australian property investment group The Investors Club said the club had encouraged investors to look in Armadale in Perth’s southeast, because of the suburbs yield and good tax credits.
